Be.EV Joins Octopus FleetBoost Charging Scheme

Be.EV has joined Octopus Fleet’s FleetBoost scheme, a new public charging offer for businesses operating electric vehicles. The scheme launches with Be.EV, MFG EV Power and IONITY as its first charge point operators. Fleet customers signing up through the Octopus Fleet platform could reduce public charging costs by up to 30%, equating to savings of up to £730 per vehicle each year. The estimate assumes a vehicle travels 15,000 miles annually and includes FleetBoost’s monthly subscription fee. Coverage analysis also indicates that 99% of UK areas are within 13.6 miles of an eligible charger.

Public Charging Cost Relief

Public charging remains an important part of fleet operations where vehicles travel beyond their depot or home charging arrangements. FleetBoost is intended to give businesses lower rates across participating public networks while bringing payments and charging access together through Octopus Fleet’s platform.

The scheme’s projected annual saving is based on a vehicle efficiency of 0.3 kWh per mile. It gives fleet managers a clearer indication of the potential cost difference for regularly driven commercial electric vehicles, while avoiding a separate public charging arrangement for each participating network.

Matt Davies, Founder at Octopus Fleet, said:

“We know that switching a fleet to electric is about much more than putting an EV on the road – businesses need charging to be affordable, reliable and easy for drivers to use, and we’re tackling this all in one go.

“By bringing together some of the UK’s biggest charging brands, we can help accelerate the transition to commercial EVs and slash the cost of public charging for businesses.”

Network Access Across Britain

The initial group of charge point operators gives FleetBoost users access to thousands of public chargers across the UK. Be.EV’s participation adds its network to an offer built around helping drivers find suitable charging while travelling for work.

FleetBoost’s coverage figures suggest that eligible charging is accessible across much of the country: 95% of UK areas are within 8.6 miles of an eligible charger, while 99% are within 13.6 miles. More charge point operators are expected to join, expanding both coverage and the available savings.

Andreas Atkins, Country Manager UK & Ireland at IONITY, said:

“For businesses running electric fleets, convenient and reliable public charging is essential to keeping drivers moving. We’re pleased to support the Octopus FleetBoost scheme, giving more fleet drivers access to IONITY’s high-power charging network and helping them spend less time charging and more time on the road.”

A More Manageable Fleet Transition

Octopus Fleet operates in the UK and 13 European countries, providing businesses with technology, payments and charging solutions as they move vehicles from petrol and diesel to electric. Its service includes public charging, automated home charging reimbursement and a Visa-backed Fleet Card for mixed fleets.

The FleetBoost launch also builds on the wider reach of Octopus Electroverse, which provides access to more than 1.5 million public charge points from over 1,600 brands across 40 countries through one app and card. For businesses, the combination of network access, charging payments and fleet administration can reduce the practical burden of managing vehicles on the road.

Martin Symes, EV Director at MFG EV Power, said:

“Making public charging genuinely affordable is the single biggest unlock for fleet electrification, and FleetBoost does exactly that, real savings at thousands of MFG EV Power bays nationwide. MFG is proud to be a founding partner, providing cheaper, faster, more reliable charging is how we accelerate the UK’s switch to electric.”

Confidence For Fleet Operators

For Be.EV, joining the programme positions public charging as a more predictable operating cost for fleet customers. The partnership brings its charging network into a shared offer alongside two other established operators, providing businesses with more options when planning routes and managing driver charging requirements.

The arrangement reflects the practical requirements of commercial electrification. Businesses need vehicles to remain available for work, drivers need usable charging on the road, and fleet teams need a way to monitor costs as their operations change.

Asif Ghafoor, CEO at Be.EV, said:

“For too long, public charging has felt like the wild west for fleets, with little control over the experience drivers get. By joining FleetBoost alongside other trusted networks, we can give businesses the confidence to transition knowing their drivers have reliable, good-value public charging across the country – at a cost that can compete with, or even beat, petrol and diesel.”

Expanding Commercial EV Access

FleetBoost’s launch gives commercial EV operators a single route to discounted charging across its first three networks. As additional charge point operators join, the scheme is set to extend its public charging reach while retaining its focus on accessible pricing and straightforward fleet management.

For businesses assessing an electric fleet transition, the offer addresses two central questions: how much public charging will cost and whether drivers can find it when needed. Be.EV’s inclusion gives the scheme another network presence as electric fleets become a more practical option for day-to-day commercial travel.
