Octopus Energy have teamed up with housebuilder Barratt Redrow to deliver new homes on the zero bills tariff. Octopus Energy guarantees residents will have no home energy bills for at least 5-10 years. The highly energy efficient homes are packed with green technologies such as heat pumps and solar panels to meet energy consumption. The £100m Octopus Energy Affordable Housing fund will enable over 1000 such homes to be built across the UK. The energy supplier aims to deliver over 100,000 new zero bills homes globally by 2030.
The Zero Bills Homes Rollout
Barratt Redrow bring their construction expertise into this partnership with Octopus Energy to deliver zero bill homes across the UK. New residents of these homes receive a guarantee of 5-10 years without a single energy bill. Renewable energy technologies including heat pumps and solar panels will meet energy consumption in the home. Batteries will add flexibility and store any excess energy produced. Barratt Energy will complete their first 54 zero bills homes this year in Wixams, Bedfordshire and Tewkesbury, Gloucestershire.

Octopus Energy Zero Bills Funding
The Octopus Energy Affordable Housing Fund has attracted £100 million of investment, which will fund over 1000 zero bills homes across England and Scotland. So far the energy supplier has approved over 5000 such homes through partnerships with leading developers. Homes will include affordable and private renting options, as well as private and shared ownership. Octopus Energy aims to deliver over 100,000 zero bills homes by 2030. The initiative has so far reached Germany, France and New Zealand, as well as the UK.
