Addressing this need, Omron Electronic Components Europe has launched the G3VM S-VSON(L) MOS FET relay, capable of operating at ambient temperature up to 125˚C—a notable improvement over previous models limited to 110˚C.

This is especially valuable in test equipment, where “more tests can be carried out simultaneously, and in a shorter amount of time,” as the press release notes.
Thanks to its voltage-driven MOS FET design, the relay also eliminates the need for input-side resistor selection. This not only simplifies circuit design but also frees up space—crucial in applications where every millimetre counts.
Weighing just 0.1 grams and measuring 2.0 mm x 1.45 mm x 1.3 mm, the relay is available in four variants, with input forward currents ranging from 0.54 mA to 6.6 mA and continuous load currents from 0.4 A to 1.5 A. This versatility makes it suitable for a wide array of applications under demanding thermal conditions.
