Pharmacy2U is the UK’s largest digital healthcare platform, putting 1.6 million patients in control of their own healthcare. Now it is the only online pharmacy to receive B Corp status, meaning the Leeds-based company will join a global community of companies meeting high standards of social and environmental care. The certificate, awarded on the 8th December, is an acknowledgement of Pharmacy2U’s industry-leading work across five impacted areas: governance, workers, community, environment, and customers.
So what does B Corp status mean? Companies with this status must meet rigorous standards across the five areas outlined above. Pharmacy2U scored 91.4 points out of 200 on the B Impact Assessment, where the median score on the B Impact Assessment is 55, while B Corp Certification requires a minimum of 80 points. The company was praised in particular for its approach to customers, as it was able to demonstrate the direct positive health outcomes of its services to its customer base.

B Corp status also reflects Pharmacy2U’s long-term commitments to balancing sustainable growth with its broader responsibilities to people and planet. Pharmacy2U is dedicated to delivering high-quality healthcare at scale whilst simultaneously reducing overall energy consumption and waste across all operations. They are also dedicated to increasing recycling efforts, strengthening governance, and investing in the well-being of both its team and the communities Pharmacy2U serves.
Kevin Heath, Chief Executive Officer, Pharmacy2U, comments: “This important milestone reflects our long-standing commitment to being a force for good in the UK’s critical national pharmacy sector. It validates the work our teams do every day to deliver on sustainability, people, and planet. We’re proud to stand shoulder-to-shoulder with a global community of companies dedicated to building a more equitable and sustainable future. This isn’t the end of the journey; it raises the bar for how we will continue to operate, innovate, and lead with purpose long into the future.”
This award is in conjunction with its Great Place To Work certification, which the company has received for two years running. The company has a dedicated GPTW committee to engage and include workers at all levels of its business to discuss feedback, benefits, and volunteering. There are also internal support groups such as Menopause Cafes and Men’s Health forums.
The business is focused on clear and consistent communication with customers, gathering feedback to ensure a real difference is made. Over 612,000 reviews on Trustpilot, with an excellent overall rating, demonstrate a positive level of customer engagement, with many customer suggestions solicited and acted upon.
Laura Turnbull, Chief People Officer, Pharmacy2U, added: “Leading our ESG strategy and achieving B Corp certification at Pharmacy2U, together with our dedicated group of ESG Sponsors, has been a truly collaborative and cross-functional effort. I’m incredibly proud of how committed we are as a business to improving the lives of our people, patients, and the planet. I’m continually inspired by the positive impact our teams create every day. This is an important step for us, and we’ll keep working hard to do even better.”

The certification marks the beginning of a new phase for Pharmacy2U. They plan to improve the performance of their business consistently year on year, and with the impact areas increasing from 5 to 7 in 2026, there is a great opportunity to embed ESG work into every corner of their business.
Recognition of achievement is important. Businesses must be commended for acknowledging the role sustainability plays in their supply chain. The granting of B Corp status marks an important step for Pharmacy2U in its ability to advertise itself as a legitimate, safe, and ecologically friendly brand.
