The European Product Design Award (EPDA) has now announced the winners of its 2025 edition in Budapest, Hungary. Submissions from more than 58 countries, spanning categories from Automotive and Consumer Electronics to Food and Beverages and Eco Design, the international EPDA jury selects projects that reflect the diversity, ambition, and creative energy of today’s design landscape.
Last year’s winners brought together established global brands, emerging studios, and young talent from some of the world’s leading design schools. This is alongside companies such as Philips, BLOND, DWISS, Mazda, Elica S.p.A., Nuna × BMW, BYD, and Natuzzi S.p.A.
Some of the Game-Changing Designs include:
- Electric Outboard RemigoOne Neo by Remigo d.o.o. (Slovenia): The world’s first fully integrated, lightweight e-outboard that looks and works as a rudder.
- Aether by Sam Merrill (Savannah College of Art and Design, United States): A reignition of the joy of driving for younger generations, responding to a cultural shift where nearly 75% of Gen Z no longer feel motivated to get behind the wheel.
- BIOPLATES by Studioneves (Portugal): The first durable tableware made from a proprietary bioplastic that is 100% biodegradable, food-safe, and carbon-negative.

The 2025 winners were selected by a jury panel of more than 30 design leaders, including Alexandre Kasper, Chairtag & Co-Founder at Kasco Arquitetura; Annie Ivanova, Executive Director at Studio Ivanova; Marko Stanojevic, Design Director at ZERO BUREAU, and Maurizio Vrenna, Assistant Professor of Design at Wenzhou-Kean University. Together, they recognized projects that combine creative vision with practical relevance.
The European Product Design Award gives designers an international platform to gain recognition, expand professional opportunities, and connect with leaders across the global design community. The EPDA remains a key platform for the promotion of design excellence, as well as highlighting the role of impactful design in shaping a better world.

The actual awards ceremony will occur in Venice. The 2024 and 2025 winners will be celebrated on October 18th, 2026, marking the grand finale of Venice Design Week at Piazza San Marco. Set in a cultural capital of the world, the ceremony will bring together EPDA winners, jury members, partners, and industry leaders for an evening dedicated to contemporary product design. The event will feature the official awards presentation, along with opportunities to connect with fellow professionals and immerse themselves in Venice Design Week.
