As explained by the EPA, “A circular economy reduces material use, redesigns materials and products to be less resource intensive, and recaptures “waste,” or material that was previously considered to be a waste, as a resource that can serve as feedstock to manufacture new materials and products.”

              As companies move away from the traditional linear model and adopt a more sustainable business approach, there are two main things to consider: how to recover materials from waste streams and how to prevent waste in the first place.
