New Wave Biotech Partners with Nurasa to Accelerate Sustainable Food and Ingredient Innovations to Scale

Digital bioprocess simulation and real-world scale-up capabilities combine to reduce risk and speed commercialisation across Asia and Europe

Manchester & Singapore, 14 January 2026 – New Wave Biotech, the UK-based specialist in AI-powered bioprocess simulation, has announced a commercial partnership with Nurasa, the Temasek-owned sustainable food and nutrition company. The collaboration is designed to help promising food-tech and ingredient innovations move more efficiently from research and development into market-ready production.

Under the partnership, Nurasa will integrate New Wave Biotech’s digital bioprocess simulation and optimisation tools into its innovation and commercialisation ecosystem. This will give companies earlier visibility into cost, yield, and sustainability performance, helping them make more informed decisions and reduce the risks traditionally associated with scaling biomanufacturing.

The collaboration directly addresses three major barriers to scaling from lab to market: the difficulty of predicting downstream process performance without time-consuming and costly experimentation; the challenge of translating complex technical choices into clear cost and sustainability outcomes; and the need to convert individual ingredients into commercially viable products with defined market pathways.

Companies within Nurasa’s ecosystem will gain access to New Wave Biotech’s Bioprocess Foresight platform, enabling them to virtually test thousands of downstream processing scenarios. The platform combines process optimisation with automated techno-economic analysis (TEA) and life-cycle assessment (LCA), offering early insight into trade-offs between yield, cost, and environmental impact before committing to major capital investments. New Wave Biotech’s software has already demonstrated the ability to reduce physical experimentation by up to 90 percent and cut unit costs by more than 50 percent.

At the same time, Nurasa’s Asia-wide network will support New Wave Biotech’s customers with access to food-grade pilot facilities, application and product development expertise, and regulatory and go-to-market partnerships. This integrated approach strengthens the pathway for companies looking to scale in Asia or expand into global markets.

Samson Lee, Strategic Partnerships Manager at Nurasa, said: “Singapore is strengthening its position as a hub for scalable, sustainable nutrition and biomanufacturing innovation. Integrating New Wave Biotech’s bioprocess simulation and TEA and LCA contextualisation capabilities into our platform strengthens our ability to guide both startups and corporates toward commercially viable production, not just technical validation. This partnership enables us to bring globally relevant food and ingredient solutions to market with greater confidence and reduced risk, using Singapore as a regional launchpad.”

Zoe Yu Tung Law, Co-Founder and CEO of New Wave Biotech, added: “Scaling biomanufacturing depends on understanding not just how a process behaves, but what that means for cost, yield, and sustainability. Our platform predicts technical outcomes and contextualises them through TEA and LCA, giving teams clear, data-driven insight at every stage of development. By partnering with Nurasa, we can support startups and established companies in progressing from lab to commercially viable manufacturing with far greater clarity and lower risk.”

By linking digital modelling with real-world scale-up environments and market access, New Wave Biotech and Nurasa aim to strengthen the commercial pathway for sustainable nutrition and biomanufactured ingredients across Asia and Europe.
