Delta Electronics has launched the VP3000-E Series variable frequency drives for fluid applications across EMEA, extending its VP3000 portfolio with models from 75 kW to 630 kW. Designed as the European successor to the company’s CP2000 Series, the compact platform combines motor control, application functions and harmonic mitigation options for pumps, fans, HVAC, water infrastructure and data centre cooling. The series supports induction, permanent magnet and synchronous reluctance motors, giving operators greater flexibility when specifying systems. Further models from 11 kW to 55 kW are planned for 2027, while a high-speed VP3000-EHS variant covers 55 kW to 450 kW.
Focused On Fluid Applications
The VP3000-E arrives as operators of water, building services and cooling systems look for practical routes to manage motor energy use and operating costs. Variable frequency drives regulate the speed of electric motors to suit demand, making them particularly relevant to variable-torque duties such as pumping and ventilation.
Delta has configured the new range for applications including water supply, wastewater treatment, HVAC and industrial utilities. In data centre environments, the intended use cases include chilled-water and condenser pumps, cooling towers, air handling units and compressors, placing cooling infrastructure at the centre of the series’ proposition.
Its dedicated functionality includes Automatic Energy Saving mode, Fan Traction Energy Control and multi-pump control. Together, these features are intended to optimise the operation of systems where flow and air movement requirements change over time.
Sander van Dasselaar, Head of Industrial Automation Business Platform at Delta Electronics EMEA, said:
“The VP3000-E represents an important step in the continued evolution of Delta’s Industrial Automation portfolio. Customers are under increasing pressure to improve energy efficiency, optimise operational performance and reduce total cost of ownership. With the VP3000-E, we provide a flexible drive platform that combines energy-efficient operation with simplified integration. It supports our strategy to strengthen Delta’s position in key growth markets such as water infrastructure, HVAC, data centers and industrial utilities, including the critical cooling and utility infrastructure that modern data centers depend on.”
Motor Compatibility And Control
A notable feature of the VP3000-E platform is its compatibility with three motor types: induction motors, permanent magnet motors and synchronous reluctance motors. This supports a broader range of equipment choices across new installations and upgrade projects, with motor technologies varying by performance, efficiency and operational requirements.
For facilities with several pumps operating in parallel, multi-pump control is designed to provide a more integrated means of managing the equipment. In HVAC and water systems, demand can fluctuate substantially, and drive control can help match motor output with the needs of the application.
The release also identifies data centre cooling as a key application area. Cooling systems commonly rely on multiple motor-driven components, from pumps and fans to compressors and cooling towers. A drive platform built for those functions can provide a common control foundation across a site’s supporting infrastructure.
Compact Integration Options
Delta has designed the VP3000-E for European requirements, with a slim and lightweight form factor across the range. Larger Frame L and M models use a chassis concept intended to simplify installation and maintenance, an important consideration where equipment access and panel space are constrained.
A C3 EMC filter is integrated as standard, alongside an integrated PLC, STO SIL3 and enhanced PCB protection. The inclusion of these features brings control, safety and protection functions into the drive platform rather than requiring each to be specified separately.
DC-bus connectivity also enables the series to integrate with Active Front End solutions and common DC-bus architectures. When used with Delta’s APF3000 Active Power Filter, the configuration can support compliance with IEEE 519 harmonic distortion requirements below 5%.
Maintenance Data At The Drive
Condition monitoring is another focus of the VP3000-E range. Built-in diagnostics provide information on core components including rectifiers, IGBTs, capacitors and cooling fans, supporting maintenance teams with visibility of components central to drive performance.
An optional LCD graphic keypad with Bluetooth and USB connectivity provides access to parameter management, warning and fault logs, waveform monitoring and reporting. These functions are intended to simplify commissioning, ongoing diagnostics and maintenance activity, while bringing operating information closer to technicians working on site.
The initial EMEA launch covers 75 kW to 630 kW. Alongside it, Delta is offering the VP3000-EHS high-speed model for turbo blower and maglev motor applications. Available from 55 kW to 450 kW, it supports output frequencies above 599Hz.
A Broader Industrial Automation Range
With the VP3000-E, Delta is building on its established variable frequency drive portfolio with a platform tailored to the requirements of fluid handling and cooling systems. The product brings together motor compatibility, dedicated functions, monitoring capabilities and harmonic mitigation options in a single compact range.
For water utilities, HVAC operators and data centre teams, the new series is positioned around the operational realities of pumping, ventilation and cooling. Its staged expansion, including planned lower-power models in 2027, gives the VP3000-E a clear role in Delta’s continuing industrial automation development for the EMEA market.
