A new range of fully sustainable zero-waste household cleaning items has been launched.

The range of items, which includes sponges, dishcloths and scouring pads made from organic materials, has been developed by Full Circle Home, a US-based manufacturer that aims to “help consumers leave the earth a better place than they found it.” The products are made from 100% plant-based, biodegradable materials, and some are even compostable, meaning no part of them ends up going to landfill.

Full Circle uses a wide range of materials in the manufacturing of these products including coconut husks, organic cotton, cellulose and jute. Their factories are kept close to the sources for these resources to increase the efficiency of the collection process.

The manufacturer also has a “plastic neutrality” policy in partnership with Plastic Bank, which states that for every ounce of plastic they use in the manufacture of their products that are not yet 100% biodegradable/recyclable, they help to recover and recycle an equivalent amount of plastic from the planet’s oceans.

“Zero-waste means that at the end of a product’s life, nothing is sent to a landfill. The design and material choices in the Zero by Full Circle collection are about meeting conscious consumers right where they are. Being a better steward for the planet doesn’t have to mean a complete upheaval of your current day-to-day. By making better choices in your daily routine, we can all make a major impact on our planet without having to adopt a new way of life,” said Heather Kauffman, Full Circle Home Co-Founder and Chief Innovation Officer.
