
UPL Ltd., a sustainable provider of agricultural products and solutions with a focus on crop protection, has been ranked as the highest performing global crop protection company for overall sustainability in 2021 ESG rating (Environmental, Social, and Governance research) by Sustainalytics.
The company also had significant improvements across other categories as well. Sustainalytics offers ESG ratings and data, as well as produces a yearly report on the sustainability of companies in a variety of sectors, so institutional investors and companies are well informed.
The criteria UPL Ltd. was assessed on by Sustainalytics included: Company Relation, Business Ethics, Managing Corporate Governance, and Carbon Footprint.
The company’s ESG risk score of 24.9 was the supposedly the best among global crop protection companies and is a 6% improvement on their previous score in 2020.

UPL’s ESG ranking follows the company’s recent successes in other global sustainability indices in 2021: The World Benchmarking Alliance, ranked UPL second out of 55 companies in the Agricultural Input segment, and fifteenth of 350 companies in the WBA Food and Agriculture benchmark categories.
