Cornwall Based Interior Design Practise, Boaz Studio, Certifies as a B Corporation

Following a rigorous application process, Boaz Studio, an award-winning Interior Design company from Truro, Cornwall, are delighted to announce that they have been awarded B Corp Certification. Demonstrating that they are operating to the highest social and environmental standards.

The application process explores and evaluates the operations of the business seeking approval ensuring high social and environmental standards in five key areas of operation including Governance, Staff, Community, Environment, and Customers.

Recent attention on the interior design industry makes Boaz Studio’s B Corp certification a notable step and signals a shift towards greater accountability and transparency in the sector.

Stephen Tozer, Founder and Creative Director of Boaz Studio said “We are so proud to be recognized and to have been certified as a B Corporation. This has meant that we are the first interior design studio in Cornwall to gain the accreditation. Since our inception, we have strived to create interior spaces that are not only aesthetically pleasing but also environmentally conscious and socially impactful. Becoming a B Corp aligns perfectly with our mission to make a positive difference in the world through our work, projects, and accomplishments.”

Boaz Studio has an ethos to source locally and ethically, a vision that has been part of their sustainability strategy since its conception. It strives to source materials from within a 50-mile radius of its Cornwall base, minimising negative effects on the environment and stimulating growth into the local economy. The Studio takes great pride in exploring how older buildings can be given a new lease of life and continue to be purposeful, accessible, and sustainable spaces for many more years to come. It holds people, its clients, and communities at the heart of everything that they do from collaborating with local trades, craftspeople, suppliers, and other B Corp organisations. They strive to use business as a force for good to deliver the most eco -friendly standards achievable; ensuring Fairtrade is another non-negotiable aspect for the company.

Boaz Studio has, since its launch, supported many local community projects by offering pro-bono interior design expertise to areas of deprivation and to unused buildings that can be brought back into community use. Projects have included an old library that is now a cultural community centre and co-working space as well as a disused pub where the local church now houses a café and meeting rooms.

After London, Cornwall is one of the largest areas in the UK to be able to celebrate companies with B Corp status, Boaz Studio now joins many other businesses in the region that have achieved this accreditation.

Boaz Studio is now part of an amazing global community of 6,810 businesses, covering a diverse mix of industries and sizes. Over 1,400 B Corp companies are based in the UK such as Patagonia, The Guardian, The Body Shop, innocent and Abel & Cole.

Chris Turner, Executive Director of B Lab UK, says “We are delighted to welcome Boaz Studio to the B Corp community. This is a movement of companies who are committed to changing how business operates and believe business really can be a force for good. We know that Boaz Studio are going to be a fantastic addition to the community and will continue driving the conversation forward”.

Boaz Studio believes that achieving B Corp Certification is just the beginning of their journey into sustainability and business growth. It has set them up for a bright and powerful future, ensuring that their vision, continued learnings and beliefs can be celebrated as they move forward to bigger things.
