Copilot Capital has made a majority investment in Green Eagle Solutions, backing the Spanish renewable energy operations software company’s expansion, with particular attention on the US market. Founded in 2012 and headquartered in Madrid, Green Eagle operates across 18 countries and supports renewable assets worldwide. Its ARSOS platform manages 90GW of wind, solar, BESS and hydro assets, including more than 10,000 wind turbines operating autonomously. The deal is Copilot Capital’s fifth and final investment from its first fund, positioning Green Eagle for its next stage of international development.

Automation For Renewable Operations

Green Eagle Solutions was established by software engineers Alejandro Cabrera and Juan Fernández to address the manual, continuous work carried out in renewable energy control rooms. The company’s ARSOS Automation Suite, launched in 2020, was designed to move beyond monitoring by automating the operational actions that follow an alert.

The platform brings together operational data and automates workflows covering fault handling, curtailments and dispatch. It is intended to give operators, asset managers and energy traders fleet visibility while carrying out responses without round-the-clock manual intervention. Green Eagle says its product suite spans O&M, G&M, APM, CompactSCADA and Substations, covering grid compliance, asset performance and electrical infrastructure.

That proposition arrives as operational demands increase across renewable portfolios, which now commonly combine wind, solar, hydro and battery assets. The International Energy Agency forecasts that global renewable power capacity will double between 2025 and 2030, adding weight to the role of software in managing larger and more varied fleets.

A Partnership For Scale

Copilot’s investment follows a period in which Green Eagle had grown before bringing in its first investment in 2021. The new partnership is set to support operational foundations and a go-to-market strategy for a broader international presence, while further investment is planned in data and AI capabilities for ARSOS.

Alejandro Cabrera, Co-Founder & CEO at Green Eagle Solutions, said:

“When Copilot Capital first got in touch, it didn’t feel like another investor testing the water. They already understood our business, where we sat in the market, and had a real strategy for a company at exactly our stage. That told us this wasn’t just an opportunity to raise capital – it was an opportunity to bring on a partner who could help us get there faster. Together with Juan, I’m excited to keep building the autopilot for renewable energy operations, at a much greater scale.”

Green Eagle has already secured two of the US’s largest power producers as customers, according to the company. The market is a central focus for the next phase, alongside continued growth in Europe and other regions where the company already has a presence.

A Global Operational Footprint

Green Eagle has 66 employees and 45 customers, with offices in Madrid and Seville. Its platform is deployed across Iberia, Europe, North America, Latin America, Australia and other EMEA markets, with more than one million automated actions executed each month.

The company’s approach centres on making automation the layer between physical energy assets and existing operator systems. ARSOS detects anomalies, determines an action and executes it across a fleet, aiming to reduce the routine intervention required from control-room teams while enabling those teams to focus on higher-value decisions.

Juan Fernández, Co-Founder at Green Eagle Solutions, said:

“We started Green Eagle Solutions because we believed the energy transition needed more than better tools – it needed the manual, round-the-clock monitoring taken off people’s plates, so they could focus on the decisions that drive even more value. This investment gives us the resources to take that vision into new markets, starting with the US, while continuing to grow in Europe.”

Copilot Completes First Fund

For Copilot Capital, the transaction completes deployment from its first fund. The investor’s portfolio now spans the Nordics, the UK and Spain, with previous majority investments in Relesys, SecureFlag, PriceShape and Zendr.

Copilot identifies Green Eagle’s established international footprint and automation-led offering as a platform for further commercial development, especially in North America.

John Messer, Founder and Managing Partner at Copilot Capital, said:

“Green Eagle Solutions is the ideal fit with Copilot’s strategy of backing fast growing software businesses and helping them become European software champions and category leaders around the world.”

Building Capacity For Growth

The investment links a specialist software investor with a business built around a pressing operational question for renewable asset owners: how to manage increasingly large, technologically diverse portfolios without simply expanding manual control-room activity. With a 90GW managed asset base and established deployments across multiple regions, Green Eagle enters its next chapter with a clear foundation for international scale.

John Messer, Founder and Managing Partner at Copilot Capital, added:

“The company is the only player in the renewable energy software space offering end-to-end control and automation, and it has already built an impressive international presence. We will help them with the expertise and growth funding to build out the go-to-market, especially in North America – the same formula we’ve used to help other founder-led software businesses scale internationally. We can’t wait to support Alejandro and Juan on that journey.”
