LRQA Accelerates Americas Expansion With Three US Acquisitions Amid Rising Global Risk

LRQA has acquired three US based businesses to expand its inspection, certification and responsible sourcing operations across the Americas, as regulatory pressure, geopolitical uncertainty and scrutiny of environmental and social performance continue to increase. The acquisitions cover inspection services, social auditing and management systems certification, strengthening LRQA’s presence in one of its fastest growing regions.

The purchases of Lindinger Inspection Engineers, International Compliance Group and the American Center for Sustainable Certifications broaden LRQA’s technical capability across energy, infrastructure, industrial supply chains and automotive manufacturing. The group said the moves support client demand for independent risk management, assurance and data driven insight.

Expanding footprint in a key growth region

The Americas has been identified by LRQA as a priority growth market alongside Asia, driven by demand for services linked to regulatory compliance, supply chain transparency and risk oversight. The three acquisitions extend LRQA’s scale in the US while adding specialist expertise in areas where clients face increasing operational and reputational exposure.

Together, the businesses add inspection capacity for large Engineering, Procurement and Construction clients, social auditing services for global brands, and additional ISO certification capability for industrial and automotive companies. LRQA said this combination strengthens its ability to support organisations operating across complex international supply chains.

The deals form part of a wider period of expansion for LRQA, following previous acquisitions in the UK, the US and Asia. The company said it continues to assess further opportunities globally.

Leadership perspective on growth and risk

Ian Spaulding, CEO of LRQA, said the acquisitions reflect confidence in long term demand for independent assurance services, even as many organisations pause investment decisions.

“At a time when many organisations are hesitating due to uncertainty, LRQA is leaning forward. Risk isn’t a deterrent for our clients, it’s something they need to navigate with confidence, to ensure a strong and secure future. These acquisitions reflect both the pace of change in global markets and our certainty in the long-term demand for independent risk management, data and expertise.”

LRQA positions its services around helping clients identify, assess and manage operational, regulatory and supply chain risks. The company said this remains a core focus as expectations around transparency and accountability continue to rise.

Lindinger strengthens US inspection services

Lindinger Inspection Engineers, headquartered in Houston, Texas, becomes LRQA’s first dedicated Inspection Services acquisition in the US. The business provides technical inspection services across energy, infrastructure and industrial markets.

LRQA said the acquisition expands its inspection capability and delivery capacity for major EPC clients operating across large scale and technically complex projects. The move increases local presence in a market where inspection and assurance requirements are closely tied to regulatory oversight and asset integrity.

The integration of Lindinger is expected to support LRQA’s existing inspection operations while providing additional scale for US based and international clients.

Boosting responsible sourcing and social auditing

International Compliance Group is a US based social auditing firm with experience across internationally recognised standards including SLCP, WRAP, Higg FEM and SEDEX. The acquisition adds more than 1,500 audits per year to LRQA’s responsible sourcing activities.

LRQA said ICG’s expertise strengthens the data and intelligence that underpin its supply chain risk intelligence software, EiQ. Social auditing remains a focus area as brands face closer examination of labour conditions, human rights and ethical practices across global supply networks.

By incorporating ICG’s audit volume and specialist knowledge, LRQA aims to expand its ability to support clients managing social compliance requirements across diverse geographies.

Expanding certification capability in automotive and industry

The American Center for Sustainable Certifications, based in Michigan, brings experience in ISO 9001, ISO 14001 and ISO 45001 certification. ACSC has a strong client base in the automotive sector, alongside broader industrial markets.

LRQA said the acquisition allows ACSC’s clients to access its international delivery platform, supporting organisations that operate across multiple regions and regulatory environments. Management systems certification remains a key service area for manufacturers facing quality, environmental and occupational health requirements.

The deal also strengthens LRQA’s presence in the US automotive supply chain, where compliance expectations continue to tighten.

Integration and acquisition approach

Jonathan Chidley, Corporate Development Director for LRQA, said the three businesses share technical credibility and leadership experience.

“What unites these businesses is deep technical credibility, their well-respected leaders and a shared commitment to helping clients protect people and assets. By fully integrating them into the LRQA platform while retaining entrepreneurial expertise from founders and owners with shared values, we’re building capability at pace, and we continue to pursue an active acquisition pipeline globally.”

LRQA said its approach combines people, services, data and technology, with a focus on retaining specialist knowledge while scaling delivery through its global network.
