New Tools Unveiled at COP30 Aim to Connect Climate Innovators and Strengthen Transparency
Shenzhen, China, 13 November 2025 – Tencent has announced four new global applications for its climate innovation platform TanLIVE, expanding its role as a digital infrastructure for transparent, data-driven climate action. Revealed during COP30, the new tools aim to connect governments, financiers, researchers, and solution providers through federated data systems and AI-powered collaboration.
The new applications — ClimateTech Search (CTS), UN Solutions Hub (UNSH), Africa Climate Investment Tracker (ACIT), and an enhanced TanLIVE Knowledge AI — reflect Tencent’s commitment to breaking down information silos and accelerating global decarbonization.
TanLIVE, first introduced at COP28 in partnership with the Innovate for ClimateTech (I4C) coalition, has evolved into an open ecosystem that supports verified data exchange across sectors and continents. By embracing the FAIR principles (Findable, Accessible, Interoperable, and Reusable), the platform is positioning itself as a key enabler of international climate collaboration.
Making Climate Solutions Discoverable
Finding credible climate technologies remains one of the major challenges in scaling climate solutions. Data is often dispersed across government repositories, hidden in academic papers, or buried in PDF reports that are inaccessible to general search engines.
Tencent’s new ClimateTech Search (CTS) tool addresses that challenge through federated search, connecting verified climate databases into a single, integrated network. Initiated by I4C, the CTS brings together trusted data from organizations such as the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, Green Technology Bank, Solar Impulse Foundation, and WIPO Green, with more partners to follow.
Using AI-powered semantic search, CTS interprets queries across multiple languages and retrieves results directly from expert-curated datasets. Each result leads to real technologies, products, or service providers, allowing governments, investors, and NGOs to identify implementable solutions quickly and reliably.
Free and globally accessible, CTS enables discovery across key sectors such as oceans, biodiversity, agriculture, and energy, giving users the confidence to act on verified data.
Building the UN Solutions Hub
In partnership with the UN Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), the UN Global Innovation Hub, and the Global Enabling Sustainability Initiative (GeSI), Tencent is developing the UN Solutions Hub (UNSH) on the TanLIVE infrastructure.
The UNSH aims to provide cities, governments, and development partners with a trusted space to collaborate on climate action. By integrating TanLIVE’s federated search and verified databases, the platform will allow policymakers to identify practical solutions aligned with national and regional climate goals.
Supported by the UN Global Innovation Hub, the UNSH seeks to bridge the gap between ambition and implementation, connecting public and private sectors through transparent, data-informed cooperation.
Driving Regional Action: Africa Climate Investment Tracker
TanLIVE’s global expansion also includes support for regional platforms such as the Africa Climate Investment Tracker (ACIT). Initiated by the Africa Green Industrialization Initiative (AGII) and powered by TanLIVE technology, ACIT offers bilingual, verified data on green projects across Africa, enhancing their credibility, discoverability, and attractiveness to investors.
In 2026, ACIT will introduce advanced analytics, financing tools, and matchmaking services, linking developers, investors, and off-takers to accelerate deployment. By improving visibility into Africa’s growing portfolio of climate investments, the tracker aims to attract new international finance and strengthen local project pipelines.
Empowering Nonprofits Through Knowledge AI
The fourth pillar of TanLIVE’s new ecosystem, Knowledge AI, helps nonprofits transform years of static research into interactive, searchable resources. The AI-powered SaaS platform enables organizations to build custom bots and knowledge systems that support internal research, public engagement, and decision-making.
More than 70 nonprofit organizations are already using Knowledge AI to enhance accessibility and efficiency in their operations. The platform helps translate institutional knowledge into actionable insights, demonstrating how AI can serve as a force multiplier for civil society in climate governance.
