GeoPura has launched HPU Agile-H, a lightweight towable hydrogen power unit designed to provide 80kW of continuous electricity for temporary, remote and lower-load operations. Developed with fuel cell partner Ballard and manufactured by Siemens Energy, the unit combines hydrogen fuel cell technology with integrated battery storage. Available for sale across the UK, Europe and North America, it offers a mobile alternative to diesel generators for construction, events, broadcasting and emergency applications. Pre-orders are now open, with deliveries scheduled from Q1 2027.
Compact Power For Mobile Sites
HPU Agile-H expands GeoPura’s hydrogen power range with a unit built for organisations that need clean electricity but do not require multi-megawatt capacity. It is intended for short-term projects, locations with limited grid access and sites where equipment must be moved regularly.
The system can be towed by a suitable SUV or large panel van, while a single technician can deploy it in under 20 minutes. Multiple units can also operate together where a project requires greater capacity, giving operators a practical route to scale power supply around changing site needs.
Applications named by the company include construction compounds, roadside utility works, welfare cabins, lighting, EV charging, live broadcasting, film and television production, events and emergency power. This breadth makes the unit relevant to sectors where diesel generators remain common for temporary electricity.
Fuel Cell And Battery System
The unit pairs a Ballard hydrogen fuel cell with battery storage. While the fuel cell supplies continuous power, the battery responds to shifts in demand, helping to provide stable electricity for variable site loads.
GeoPura will provide green hydrogen through its production facilities, hydrogen storage and delivery network. The business will also remotely monitor and control the units, combining fuel supply, generation equipment and operational support in one service proposition for customers purchasing Agile-H.
Unlike diesel generation, the unit produces electricity without combustion and has no carbon dioxide, nitrogen oxide or particulate emissions at the point of use. Its quiet operation also makes it suitable for locations where exhaust fumes and generator noise can affect workers, production crews, artists and nearby audiences.

Expanding Hydrogen Power Options
The launch follows GeoPura’s merger with Ballard, combining GeoPura’s hydrogen production, logistics and power delivery capabilities with Ballard’s fuel cell expertise. HPU Agile-H broadens the combined business’s offer across the UK, Europe and North America, covering power requirements from 50kW to 50MW.
The new unit sits alongside larger hydrogen power systems used for data centres, grid augmentation and critical industrial operations. Its smaller format responds to demand for equipment that can be deployed quickly at temporary sites, then moved once work is complete.
Andrew Cunningham, President of Ballard, said:
“Hydrogen power needs to fit the way customers work. For some, that means supplying megawatts of electricity to a data centre. For others, it means getting power to a temporary site quickly, then moving it on when the job is done.
“HPU Agile-H gives customers that flexibility, with the reliability and responsiveness the job demands. It also removes diesel fumes and reduces noise, creating a better, safer working environment for those nearby.
“We supply the hydrogen and provide the teams to deploy and support the units, making the transition straightforward. Together with Ballard, we can bring that approach to more customers and more markets.”
Pre Orders Open For 2027
HPU Agile-H presents a focused option for businesses replacing diesel generation where full-scale power infrastructure is unnecessary or unavailable. The combination of towable equipment, rapid deployment, fuel supply and remote support could help operators introduce hydrogen power into day-to-day temporary operations.
For construction, live production and critical services, cleaner off-grid electricity must also remain dependable in demanding environments. With built-in safety systems and remote monitoring, GeoPura is positioning Agile-H as a practical hydrogen power option for organisations seeking lower-emission temporary electricity without sacrificing mobility.
