Believ will install four ultra-rapid electric vehicle charging bays at a Tesco site near Evesham, Worcestershire, through a partnership with Bengeworth Property Investments Limited. The fully funded hub will serve A46 travellers, Tesco customers and local residents, placing high-power public charging at an established roadside stop. Delivery is expected by the first quarter of 2027, with construction and opening details still to be confirmed. The project also commits to accessibility through chargers designed to meet PAS 1899 requirements for public EV charging.

Charging Along The A46

The planned hub is located at a Tesco site off the A46, a route used by drivers travelling through the Evesham area. By placing charging bays where motorists already stop to shop or take a break, the scheme is intended to reduce the need for separate charging detours.

Ultra-rapid equipment has been selected to support shorter dwell times, allowing drivers to top up during a visit to the site. The combination of en-route demand and local use gives the installation a clear practical role for different types of EV journey.

Andy Browne, Bengeworth Property Investments Limited, said:

“The new installation will bring quick, convenient EV charging to visitors to the Tesco site and drivers travelling along the A46.

“This partnership reflects our commitment to helping drivers switch to EVs and delivering infrastructure that contributes to our wider climate goals.”

Believ Funds The Installation

Believ will fully fund the four-bay installation, while working with Bengeworth Property Investments Limited through the delivery process. The arrangement supports the property business’s climate goals while bringing charging provision to a location identified as having strong demand from passing drivers.

For site owners and local property businesses, funded charging projects can offer a route to add EV infrastructure without the upfront cost of procuring and operating the equipment independently. In this case, Believ will manage each stage of delivery, from planning through to installation.

Ben Johnson, Senior Surveyor at Believ, said:

“Drivers are already stopping here, so adding charging makes practical sense and requires no extra detour.

“Working alongside Bengeworth Property Investments Limited, we’ll manage each stage of delivery and keep the project on track, making it easier for drivers to charge where they already stop.”

Accessibility In Public Charging

All chargers at the Evesham site will be designed to meet PAS 1899, the UK specification standard for accessible public EV charging. That commitment places accessibility alongside charging speed in the project’s design brief.

Accessible public charging is an important consideration for drivers with differing mobility needs, as well as for the broader usability of the public network. Incorporating the PAS 1899 requirements from the outset gives the new facility a stronger foundation for serving a wider range of users.

The hub will support shoppers, residents and through traffic, demonstrating how well-sited charging can fit within existing everyday journeys. Its location at a retail destination also reflects the value of combining charging availability with services that drivers already use.

A Practical Local Addition

With completion anticipated in the first quarter of 2027, the Evesham installation will add four ultra-rapid bays to the area’s public charging provision. The project brings together a charge point operator and a property investor around a straightforward proposition: make reliable charging available at a place where vehicles already stop.

For drivers using the A46 and the Tesco site, the planned hub promises a convenient new option for topping up without altering established travel patterns. The partnership is a well-targeted addition to Worcestershire’s EV charging infrastructure, combining private investment, ultra-rapid technology and accessibility-led design.
