It also keeps reusable components in circulation through Copart’s network, presenting a practical circular economy model for commercial vehicle operations.

Vehicle repair is often associated with the installation of newly manufactured replacement components, even where a suitable used part is available. The Green Parts Specialists supplies provenanced green parts as an alternative for professional repairers, enabling fleet operators to extend the useful life of components recovered from end-of-life and damaged vehicles.
For Europcar Mobility Group UK, the partnership has created access to parts for company car and fleet repairs while supporting its commitment to reduce tailpipe emissions. The company’s recovered reusable parts can also be resold through the Copart network for use in other vehicle repairs, creating a further route for materials to remain in use rather than being prematurely discarded.
The reported 122 tCO₂e avoided this year to date combines the use of green parts in Europcar repairs with the resale of reusable components recovered from Europcar vehicles. Carbon savings have been calculated using the methodology in the Vehicle Recyclers’ Association Certification report, Carbon Emission Savings from Green Reclaimed Vehicle Parts, Version 2, published in August 2024.
