Ancoris GreenLab is supposed to help organizations add carbon footprint reduction to their migration business cases – will it be enough to change the tide against climate breakdown?

The launch of the new Google Cloud service, Ancoris GreenLab, has been announced via Google’s partner, the Cloud services provider, Ancoris.

It is a new solution that, it is claimed, will reduce organizations’ carbon footprints through Cloud migration and IT modernisation planning, making them more sustainable.

Ancoris GreenLab was designed to help organisations understand the ways in which they can contribute to their sustainability goals. This is achieved through insight into the carbon impact of migrating to the Google Cloud from on-premises and hosted IT deployments.

Ancoris formed GreenLab so that significant carbon footprint reduction measures would be added to Cloud migration and IT modernisation, as well as providing a migration plan and financial business case to ensure that organizations are able to understand the full execution roadmap.

“I believe that our GreenLab solution is the best way for Ancoris to have a wider impact on sustainability beyond our own organisation, by helping as many companies as possible to add carbon footprint reduction to their migration business case,” stated André Azevedo, CEO of Ancoris. “This can be up to 80% depending on where you run your workloads today, so it can be very meaningful.”
