Rhenus Logistics earns Top Employer 2026 certification in the United Kingdom

Rhenus Logistics has been certified as a Top Employer 2026 in the United Kingdom, extending a run of recognition that also includes Italy, Spain and Germany. The certification confirms the company’s continued focus on employee experience across its European operations and reflects standards applied across the wider Rhenus Group.

The certification is awarded by the Top Employers Institute following an annual assessment of people practices. For Rhenus, the 2026 result applies to more than 41,000 employees globally and covers multiple business units in the UK, including Road Freight, Air & Ocean and warehousing operations in Corby.

Top Employer certification is based on the Institute’s HR Best Practices Survey, which measures performance across six broad HR areas and 20 individual topics. These include People Strategy, Work Environment, Talent Acquisition, Learning, Well-being, and Diversity & Inclusion. Companies must meet defined international benchmarks to qualify.

According to Rhenus, the 2026 outcome reflects continued investment in workforce development, digital HR systems and initiatives designed to support employee engagement and wellbeing. The company says these efforts are intended to respond to increasingly demanding operating conditions across the logistics sector.

“Our people are the foundation of everything we do at Rhenus. These certifications are both a powerful motivator and a reflection of our ongoing collective dedication,” said Dr. Joana Baetz, Member of the Board for HR, Sustainability & Compliance. “Being recognised as a Top Employer across multiple countries is a meaningful moment for us. This confirms our commitment to continuously improving the employee experience and investing in people-first initiatives. We are aware that our teams are operating in a demanding environment, and this recognition strengthens our responsibility to further improve how we support our people. We will continue to raise the bar in areas such as workforce development, people sustainability, digital innovation, among others, to ensure Rhenus remains a responsible and trusted employer in key markets.”

In the UK, the certification builds on results from previous years. Road Freight and Air & Ocean operations achieved certification for the third consecutive year, while the Corby warehousing site was included for a second time. Rhenus reports year-on-year improvements across several assessed categories.

The largest gains compared with the previous year were recorded in Learning, which increased by 12.22 percent, Employer Branding at 11.11 percent, and Diversity, Equity and Inclusion at 9.73 percent. These improvements were linked to targeted initiatives aimed at strengthening skills development and workplace culture. The UK business also received above-market average scores in Employee Listening, Employer Branding and Digital HR Innovation.

The Top Employers Institute positions its certification as a benchmark for organisations seeking to align people practices with business objectives. Companies are assessed against international standards rather than relative performance within a sector, allowing for comparisons across industries and regions.

Adrian Seligman, CEO of the Top Employers Institute, said the certification reflects organisational consistency across markets. “Achieving a Country Top Employer Certification for 2026 reflects Rhenus dedication to building an outstanding workplace that enables sustained business performance. Their strong alignment between people strategy and organisational goals, combined with a commitment to continuous improvement, demonstrates the impact of their transformative practices. We are proud to recognise Rhenus for their meaningful contribution to a better world of work in Italy, Spain, the United Kingdom and Germany.”

Rhenus operates in a sector facing ongoing workforce pressures linked to labour availability, regulatory change and rising service expectations. Logistics companies across Europe have increased focus on recruitment, retention and skills development as supply chains become more complex and digitally enabled.

The group says its “One Rhenus, One Workplace” approach is intended to create greater consistency in employee experience while allowing for local adaptation. This includes shared digital tools, leadership development programmes and structured feedback mechanisms across regions.

While the certification does not measure business performance, it is often used by employers to support recruitment efforts and internal engagement. For multinational companies, recognition across several countries can also signal alignment of people policies at group level.

Founded in Germany, the Rhenus Group is one of Europe’s larger logistics service providers, offering transport, warehousing, customs clearance and value-added services. The family-owned business operates at more than 1,330 locations in over 70 countries and reported annual turnover of EUR 8.2 billion.

The Top Employers Institute certified more than 2,500 organisations globally in 2025, covering 131 countries and regions. The programme is positioned as a tool for encouraging continuous development of workplace practices rather than a one-off award.

For Rhenus, the 2026 certification provides external validation of internal HR programmes while setting a reference point for further improvement across its European operations.
