Make A “Green Team”

Set up a committee run by employees to come up with ways to take care of the Earth. This will make everyone feel like they are a part of the team and make them feel more involved.

Show The Results

Put the power bill for your business up where everyone can see it. You can talk about going green all day, but you’ll only see real results if you make the primary objective real. Employees can be rewarded with a company party if the power bill goes down by a certain amount from one month to the next.

You could also put all of the water bottles that employees throw away in a week on display so they can see how much plastic they are using.

Put notes on light switches, hand basins, and water fountains to remind staff to turn off the lights when they leave a room and be careful about how much water they use. This will help you get the results you want. Put notes by printers and computers to remind people to turn them off when they are not being used.

Give Your Employees Rewards If They “Go Green”

Don’t forget that a small amount of money to go green can do a lot to get people to work hard. Give incentives to people who ride the bus or carpool to work. If you give a bonus to a worker who comes up with new ways to help the environment, your company will have more ways to help Mother Nature. Talk to your hr consultancy team about what incentives could be included in this. 

Put Recycling Bins In More Than One Spot

If you can, give each employee their own recycling bin and a smaller trash can at their desk. Having a private recycling bin will make it easier for them to recycle and hold them accountable for doing so, since it will be clear who is recycling and who isn’t. A small trash can will get full faster and make your workers more aware of how much trash they are making.

Also, put up signs telling everyone what can be recycled and what can’t. Consider giving your employees company mugs so they don’t have to use disposable cups every time they make coffee.

Show The Way By Putting Money Into Green Infrastructure

To make a company last, both the people at the top and the people at the bottom need to do something. Simple changes to the building, like adding light switches that turn on when someone walks by, can help remind employees that you’re trying to save energy (and eliminate the last-one-out-hits-the-lights conundrum). Also, bigger investments like putting up solar panels to use the sun’s energy will send a strong message that your company cares about keeping our planet’s resources safe.
