FPT is presenting its N45 engine at the STEYR stand during Interforst 2026 in Munich and supports a forest education programme with STEYR and AGDW Die Waldeigentümer. The international forestry and forest technology fair runs from 15 to 18 October 2026. FPT supplies the engines for the Plus, Expert CVT, Profi CVT, Impuls CVT and Cervus CVT Forestry tractors on display. The four-cylinder N45 offers up to 147 kW of power and 744 Nm of torque, while meeting Stage V and Tier 4 Final emissions requirements.

A Partnership Beyond Equipment

FPT’s presence at the event reflects both its role as an engine supplier and its involvement in the Wald Klima-Klasse Initiative. Created with STEYR and AGDW, the programme introduces pupils from fifth grade onwards to ecology and responsible forest management through outdoor activities.

AGDW represents around two million owners of private, municipal and public-sector forests in Germany, managing approximately 67% of the country’s forests. Its work promotes forest care and management, often certified through standards such as the Programme for the Endorsement of Forest Certification.

Egle Panzella, Brand Equity and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at FPT, said:

“In this context, where young people are directly involved in the preservation and restoration of forest heritage, FPT and its engines powering STEYR forestry tractors play an important supporting role in the activities.”

Learning In The Forest

The Wald Klima-Klasse Initiative takes learning beyond a traditional classroom. Guided by professional foresters, participating students adopt a local area of woodland, plant young trees and help care for a small climate forest. The practical format gives young people direct experience of how conscious forestry is carried out.

Regional groups, including WBV Westallgäu, work with local schools to organise planting and field days. Following a planting initiative in 2025, the programme is moving into a new stage in 2026, with a sustained long-term rollout and wider adoption planned across Germany.

The initiative brings forestry, industry and education into the same programme, with a focus on climate-resilient woodlands and responsible forest management. It also places students close to the practical work of conserving and restoring forest heritage.

Egle Panzella, Brand Equity and Corporate Social Responsibility Manager at FPT, said:

“They demonstrate that efficient state-of-the-art engines are capable of integrating harmoniously into a project with big goals, but which remains human in scale. Creating a shared culture of care for the environment is the ultimate goal of the project, and a mission that is particularly close to our Brand.”

Forestry Tractors On Display

At the STEYR stand, visitors can see a forestry-focused tractor range powered by FPT engines. The line-up includes Plus, Expert CVT, Profi CVT, Impuls CVT and Cervus CVT models in Forestry version, covering a range of professional operating requirements.

Forestry work places particular demands on machinery, including robustness, versatility and productivity. The display offers an opportunity to examine how the tractor range is configured for modern forestry operations and how powertrain systems fit within those applications.

Jona Hormann, Key Account Manager, Municipality and Forestry at STEYR, said:

“Forestry professionals require tractors that combine robustness, operator comfort, versatility, and productivity. Interforst provides the ideal platform to showcase how STEYR solutions support modern forestry operations, and reinforce STEYR’s position as a trusted specialist partner for professional forestry customers.”

The N45 Engine

The N45 is part of FPT’s NEF engine family, which has been used across agricultural machinery applications since 2001. More than two million NEF engines have been built for tractors, combine harvesters, specialty fruit equipment and windrowers.

The engine shown at Interforst has a 4.5-litre displacement and four-cylinder layout. Its maximum output is up to 147 kW at 2,100 rpm, with maximum torque of up to 744 Nm at 1,400 rpm. It is compatible with HVO and uses FPT’s EGR-free combustion system and patented HI-eSCR2 post-treatment system.

These specifications position the N45 for mid-range applications where power density, fuel economy and long-term reliability are central considerations. Its presence at Interforst connects the technical side of forestry equipment with a wider programme encouraging young people to understand and care for woodland.

A Shared Focus On Forest Care

The collaboration gives Interforst visitors a view of both the machinery used in professional forestry and the education work intended to build awareness among future forest managers. By pairing tractor technology with hands-on planting and care activities, FPT, STEYR and AGDW are supporting a programme centred on practical engagement with Germany’s forests.
